If you know that you want to change something about your career or your job, but you are not sure what or how to change, a Career Coaching Session with Action Resumes can make the difference.

Also, if you have a few tough questions about your career history and you want to prepare for an interview, call us.  Perhaps you have some gaps in your work history that are tough to explain.  We can help.

What we have found is that about half way into a session, we will usually identify what's gone wrong and what needs to be fixed.

Why Are We So Good At This?

  • We have a lot of experience coaching people - on the job and in stressful situations.  So we know what works and what does not work.
  • We have a tremendous amount of high level experience managing and leading people.
  • We are very intuitive and we have a unique ability to listen to you and to "see" what is not working.  People that know us well always comment about how fast we can solve these types of problems.

Who Can You Trust?coaching

Let's say you are not happy with your current job.  Who can you turn to for advice?

You can't talk to your boss.  You don't want to show any signs of weakness or uncertainty in front of the boss.

You can't talk to your coworkers.  They might tell your boss.  Worse, they might become your boss.  Then they would know all your issues.

Usually you can't talk to your family.  Why?  First, change is very scary and the people close to you probably don't want to see any change.  Second, any advice you get won't be objective. Third, you may cause them to worry.  Forth, you will begin to introduce instability into the relationship. Those are all problems you can do without.

Can you ask friends?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  It depends on a lot of things.  But the one thing for certain, they can not be totally objective.

Subjects We Can Cover In Your Session

The career coaching session is for you and therefore you can determine how we spend the time.

However, here are some subjects we have found to be quite common:

  • After several years with the same company I have to start looking for a new job.  I'm out of practice when it comes to resumes, interviewing etc.
  • My resume has some odd gaps because of time I took off to start my own business.  How do I explain these gaps.
  • I've changed jobs a little too often, how do I explain that.
  • I am bored to death at work and the job is grinding me down.  I need help and don't know where to start.
  • My career seems stuck.  I am no longer as involved as I used to be.  I don't seem to get as many exciting projects as I used to get.  I feel left out.
  • I'm not getting ahead at my company.  I see other people get more opportunities and I want to know what to do.
  • I am very good at what I do, but I want a change.  My work is no longer fulfilling.
  • I just need new career direction. Where can I utilize my skills and strengths?
